Yes, I was there during the three day battle. I was on my owner's side when he was wounded on Little Round Top. I was with him when we stood mere yards from Honest Abe and listened to his Gettysburg Address.
Later my owner had me cut down to 4 and 3/4 inches and converted to 22 caliber. I was used to teach his three sons and six grandchildren to shoot. Then I sat for many years, quiet and not used until my new owner brought me home. Now i'm being used on his 13 year olds trap lines. It's good to get used again.
This is model 2 number 1872, shipped in December 1861. I will be sending for a factory letter. My son uses it out back now.
How about that period holster? Its made from an old shoe or boot. No finish left but it's tight and has the original grips.
