I convinced Liz Shuter to sell this to me after a couple of days of prodding.......I shot it tonight and it is a tack driver. Trying to find a strong enough screwdriver to move the rear sight screw (must come up a bit) without damaging it...otherwise perfect.

Great catch and beautiful pictures. I've never even had the pleasure of seeing one of these in person let alone shoot one. I'm not suprised to hear it's a tack driver. Have fun with your new toy.

There's one you don't see too often. Used to be they showed up on the auction sites a bit. Not anymore. You seem to have the whole package and it looks great. Thanks for sharing.

Terry,
I enjoyed meeting you at SWCA. Your photos make me wish I had bought it first! Oh well, snooze and lose. Instead of trying to use and maybe damage the original screwdriver go to Lowes or Home depot and look for their small srewdriver. It has 4 small bits, flat and phillips, that fit in the handle and are great for prewar screws. Also soak the sight in penetrating oil a day or two. Good luck and your right about them being great shooters.

Another nice catch for you Terry. Liz had some great guns didn't she?
You did well in the auction too. It was my first annual, and it was a pleasure meeting you and many other members.

Terry,
A magnificent gun, and worthy of any collection!
Congratulations.
Bill,
Next year you'll clean up at the auction, I'm sure...and just maybe I'll bring some of that (high-priced (:>) ) Cheddar and we can all snack on it!

Don, I did clean up at the auction. I got some really pretty Stag J Frame grips, as well as some presentation grips and customs. Love the stags, all yellowed and old. I put them on a Model 39 and they look beautiful.

John, while your purchase advice was sound on the Model 35, I think $50 cheese is beyond what my taste buds can appreciate!

I'll tell you, the cheese was awesome for raising money, but I did fairly well with the surprise box from Plaxco.....Four (4) 745 slides and two complete with safety and barrels. In fact, one of the barrels is a BarSto. I hope some of you guys want a 745 slide. Posted in the forum.
Liz wanted the score book that David bought for a whopping $800 because she and her husband headed the organization for 23 years.
