I found this by accident on a shotgun site that I had never seen before. I was told it came form a Police Dept in a small Kentucky town. It appears to have been shipped in June 1956. I will get this one lettered.

A Nice Rare Catch there, Tough Model to find in Nickel. You may or may not know this, but the Pre-27's in Nickel are much harder to locate than the Blued ones. Being that you are a S&WCA member if you go to our private viewing section here in the forum, you can see a thread started by me asking how many Pre-27's were made in Nickel finish. I had been hunting a Pre-27 for a Long time before finding the one below, that shipped in 1955. I Passed on many Blued ones that showed Bluing wear, but had not seen only One in nickel, Until I came across the one shown as they just do not seem to come along often. I Passed on a 6-1/2" Nickel example about two years ago in a Nashville area gun shop that was priced at $1100.00 not knowing at that time that it was one of the toughest barrel lengths to find in Nickel finish and now Regreat that choice. I Built the Presentation case mine is shown in by Cutting down a 4" Version to Fit the 3-1/2" Barrel Length... I accumulated the correct paperwork for it along with the correct Nickel handle Knurled sight adjuster rounding out the package shown. Some Flitz would really bring that Finish back to Looking like new again as I spent an evening in my Recliner Polishing mine with it. Again, Congratulations on finding yours...Hammerdown

I cleaned this old clunker up a bit and took a few pictures along with the original Brauer Bros holster and cartridge belt. I think it is a neat looking rig for an old Cop gun. Now where do I find a box for this one to call home?
