Default King McGivern Red Bead

Guys

Our fellow contributor "Parts", aka Dave, sent me these pics of a very very rare sight. It's a King/McGivern Red Bead.

I'd never seen one before and had to look it up in the King catalog to verify it. Apparently, the King/McGivern Bead was offered in Gold (the most often seen variety), Red or White.

This is the only red one I've ever seen. Congrats Parts, a rare find indeed. How about posting some pics of the pre-war Magnum for us... ? :-)

Regards.

Dave Ballantyne

Crazy question, perhaps ...what was the red bead made of? ... a resin material?

Thanks,

Jerry

Dave,
The FBI Mag I showed you at Tulsa has a red bead. It is shaped slightly different from that one, but the letter speced a red bead.

Lee - I've got several with King and (I believe) Sheard or Marble red beads, but none of them are "King/McGivern Red Beads". The style is so distinctive. It's a pronounced McGivern bead but it's RED!! I just love it. :-)

If you showed me one in Tulsa if fell straight off the other side of the buffer! Premature senility, no surprise to anyone but me, and it's a surprise to me every time I find out! :-)

And please tell me how I put emoticons (smiley faces) into my text? It's driving me crazy trying work it out!

Regards.
