Default pre-24

I am going to look at a pre-24 this week-end, anything I should be looking for? Supposed to be 95% with box. No idea the asking price.
Thanks,
Mark

I would say if it is that nice you'll probably need to be looking for a loan.

Look for the obvious...matching number grips, tool kit, paperwork etc.

Sounds like an exciting weekend coming up. The pre 24s are one of my favorites.
The 6 1/2 inch are the more common, 4 inch are scarce and command a premium, and any other factory barrel length would be rare, like a 5 incher.
Bright blue commands a premium and nickeled one were special order and few and far between.
And of course target accessories add value. Most came with the diamond magna grips as standard.
Standard guns in 95% sell for $1,200 on up with the box.
Good luck, let us know how you do.

This one was shipped january of 1955. I have owned it for about just under 40 years. I hid the original grips a long time ago and cant find them!

Anything other than 6.5" barrel is uncommon and pricey.

My advice would be to tell the guy you don't want it and give me his phone number and e-mail address! (smiley faced goes here)

Seriously, good luck and I hope it's what you want and you can afford it.

Be careful of it having a swapped 4" barrel. Other than that, the usual stuff.
