Gun Show Find Today
I went to a small show this morning at a local VFW about 3 miles from home. I got there when the show opened and picked off this ealy K-22 for $300. Serial number is K 7682. I am guessing it will date to 1947.

I just got the shipping date from Roy and it shipped in November 1947. Seemed like it was a half price sale. And... to make things even better, I got into the show for FREE because I extended my NRA membership and got $10 off the renewal. So it has been a good day all around. I tried to extend my streak by going to another small show about 15 miles away, but that one came up dry

Gary, that one is SWEET! Congratulations on the major score.
Was there some kind of special additive they put in the bluing tank in 1947? Seems to me that I have seen more 1947 guns in near new condition than from any other year.

The gun has some really nice early features. One is the pin with the
rounded-over ends, holding the front sight blade. The other is the
very sharp shoulder on the magna grips. Those should be the earliest
design for the post-WW2 magna stocks.

David
I think the seller must have had some "special additive" to let the gun go for $300.

Congratulations, Gary! That's a nice one. I see it carries the 1 line address too. Let us know how it shoots. Hard to find a better shooter than an early K22.

Jerry

Lee, I wish I could do that. But I am pretty slick and drive a hard bargain. I'd have to get 11% and 2 cheesesteaks!!! Bottom line!!

Ok. I'll bring it to Tulsa, $333 and two cheesesteaks. I just want them with fried onions and no sauce.
