Default Thought I was through buying .38's!

Picked this up at auction yesterday. $250 otd. Bore and chambers are good, tight, grips are in really good shape. I love the gold grip escutcheons! Small S&W crest on the left frame, no crest on the right, only the simple 'MADE IN USA' line.
Haven't even broke out the SCSW book yet. Anyone here care to hit it with a quick ID? s/n 61434x.

Hi, looks to be a round-butt Military & Police from the early 1930s per the SN, much less common than the square-butt version. Cool gun; and no, you are not done buying .38s

If those are gold recessed medallions they were used pre 1920. I really like those old large medallions also.
