Can anyone put a timeline on these K frame hammers.........as to when they were used? They are identical with "D" stamps on the bottom.
My Victory model hammer appears the same but curious how much earlier these were used.

They will look like that back to the beginning of the 1905-4th Change in 1915.
The 3rd change had chafing bushings.
The order to stamp "Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." was issued in June, 1926. I would imagine there were 100's, if not 1000's of hammers on hand already, so God only knows when that mark was finally phased in. I believe they dropped that mark during war time production.

Various numbers and letters appear on the bottom s of hammers. I assume it is a batch or employee number.
