They will look like that back to the beginning of the 1905-4th Change in 1915.
The 3rd change had chafing bushings.
The order to stamp "Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." was issued in June, 1926. I would imagine there were 100's, if not 1000's of hammers on hand already, so God only knows when that mark was finally phased in. I believe they dropped that mark during war time production.
Various numbers and letters appear on the bottom s of hammers. I assume it is a batch or employee number.
