Default Some Tulsa Bringbacks

Here are a couple of bringbacks from the Tulsa show.

Registered Magnum, serial number 56781, Reg # 3954, 5 inch barrel and a Call front sight. This one is no safe queen and has seen a lot of hard use. I expect it will letter as a LEO gun. I have sent off for a letter.

This is another one that is no "safe queen". I bought this with the original intention of selling it, but it grew on me and I decided to hold on to it for a while. This is an early post war Transitional 38/44 HD. The serial number is S-65024. From other serial numbers, I would place this one in early 1946.

I also picked up two nice MK II 455's, a British and a Canadian, both with provenance, an early pre Model 40 Centennial. a pre war N frame grip adapter, a nice Model 13-2 and a few grips and other misc stuff.

Feel free to jump in and post pics of your bringbacks from Tulsa. I'd also be interested in hearing other opinions of the show. I thought that attendance was off, prices were high and a lot of sellers were complaining that they were not selling a lot. Of course it did not help that the reno show was the same weekend.

Nice finds! I went on Sunday for the first time and subjectively the crowds were a lot smaller than in previous years. Nice stuff to see, but no bargains of any kind. Maybe the bad economy, plus opening weekend of fall deer season may have also had something to do with the low turnout.

Thumbs up Workin' Guns

Gary:

That RM has seen some work. Both of the above guns are great examples of guns that were not only classically beautiful and functional, but appear to actually be used for their intended purpose!

Gary,

Sorry I missed the show and visiting with everyone. I would have been right there with you on your "bring backs", particularly the RM, the trans HD, the Pre M40 and the adapter. Knowing your tastes, I would also have been in on the bidding for the grips too. Congratulations on all the acquisitions.

Bob

Pre Model 40 shipped in January 1955

Pair of 455 Mark II revolvers. Front revolver is Canadian and the rear one is British and is marked R C Martin RGA. I found a Ralph Charles Martin in the Royal Garrison Artillery listed in British Archives

Nice finds Gary,

I too felt the prices were high, saw a couple guns that caught my interest but I couldnt justify the expenditure, the 2nd Model 44 HE target on the lower level was $2000 and it was around an 85% gun and the RM that was pawnshop engraved with a cut barrel was $4500. I almost bought a shooter pre 27 3.5" for under $500 but I guess I didnt want it enough.
The crowd on Saturday was more like a normal Sunday crowd IMO. but I have found this to be true at all the shows I have gone to the past few months even the Reno show.

Gary,

You found a couple of interesting ones for sure. I'll look forward to what your letter says on the RM. I like working guns!

Thanks for the post,

Jerry
