Default 1905 Hand Ejector 32-20

Added this one a couple weeks ago. Left the factory in 1911 & is as new unfired in the original box, with cleaning brush. Very happy to find this one.

Waal, I guess that after looking at the inside of that box lid, "32 Military and Police Winchester" might be an appropriate title, as is "Hand Ejector 32 Winchester".

What say you, Mike Priwer?

What a gem! I'd have been happy to find that one too.

I'm liking K-frame .32s more and more, whether in .32 Long or .32-20. Thanks heavens there are so many of the latter, relatively speaking, because the former are sure expensive when you come across one.

I'm thinking Mike's way too smart to get suckered into that kind of discussion.

We as collectors name guns what we want. What the factory called a gun is of very little significance. You won't find a box with "Triple Lock", but its what the vast majority of collectors, owners, and shooters call them.

I note the internal lock is just below the thumbpiece on these 1905 Models. I wonder if any of the experts can tell us what year it was moved to the present location above the thumbpiece.

Wow! What an excellent find. Amazing some of the guns I see on this forum. That is why I love spending time on this excellent forum. Thank you for sharing that. The condition of your .32-20 beats the daylights out of my grandfather's 1905 Fourth Change!

Regards,
Shawn

"I'm thinking Mike's way too smart to get suckered into that kind of discussion.'

IIRC, Mike was discussing the .32-20 Smiths a few years back and stated that they shouldn't be considered M&Ps.

Of course, when new data, as when the picture of this box surfaces, it may be time to change one's opinion.

Nice find, indeed! The box is a real bonus, and I'll look forward to hearing further comments from the experts on the label information previously referred to.

Thanks for the post & pics,

Jerry

Default 32-20

It came out of an estate here in Michigan. A 1925 registration card was with it, that's the year the Act was passed & all handguns had to be registered. The guy's occupation is listed as "Michigan Engineer". Wonder what that means? It does give me a place to start, also have a letter coming from Roy. I will post the info when I get it, thanks, Jim.
