Default .44 Hand Ejector 2nd Model Target

I just got this one over the weekend. 2nd model 44 HE target. 6 1/2 barrel, blued finish, good lock up, grips number to the gun. there is no pitting on the frame or barrel just a very nice patina. i have never seen this but it has a marble front sight(35-c)gold bead. i think i'm going to letter this one just to see if the front sight is correct. all in all i think it's about a 85% gun. hope you like it...

Thumbs up

Nice 44 Second Model Target. I have a K-22 Outdoorsman that letters with a marble front sight and a U-notch rear sight. The U-notch rear was usually used in conjunction with the marble front sight.

Very nice. 2nd model .44s aren't valued as much as 1st and 3rds, but they still are goodens'.

Very nice 2nd model. It definitely needs a letter.

I REALLY like that gun. You sure don't see too many target versions of the 2nd Model. Looks like a nice honest example with the matching number grips and the cool front sight being a nice bonus. I hope it letters like it stands. Please let us know what the letter says and thanks for posting the pics.

Neat gun. Just enough wear that shows it was "loved".

gjamison, that is a nice honest old Smith. I have been looking for one to fill a hole. And that is the type I;m looking for. I want a representative sample and a shooter, no safe queen. If you ever fall out of love with it, let me know. Of course if it comes back shipped to Keith or McGivern, never mind. Enjoy.

They are neat guns. Mine has been restored, I believe, as it has a really long throat in it. Good job though.

And here's a trip to the range. Twenty-five yards - 12 rounds. I quit after that.
