Model 45's are so rare that the prices are all over the map. They only made 1500 to begin with, most made for the Post Office and Coast Gaurd as training revolvers. Problem is, The Post Office revolvers were never released for public sale after they were finished using them, it is assumed thye were destroyed. So, the ones that police agencies and collectors bought "Back in the Day" are the ones that survive today, knowledgable collectors here on the forum put the number that survive around 500.
I have seen Model 45's go for as little as $900 in the last few years, and as high as $3000 for a "New in the box" example that two guys fought over on Auction Arms.
Someone who has a Model 45 for sale can pretty much set their own price, someone out there will buy it. I had to have one, and bought the first one I could afford, in 2006 I paid $1145 for a Model 45 "No Dash" with a little holster wear like you describe. I don't think I would ever sell it, but if I did and someone broke out a "Blue Book' to argue price with me, I'd tell them they didn't want it bad enough!
