Three 6 1/2 HD,s Gun Show (Hat Trick)
Hi
For all the HD Fans out there. I Was at a gun show this weekend and was able to buy 3 38/44 Post war HD,s at the show.
Two of them were bought from a son of a retired Washington HP member
one of them was his duty gun the other he was able to buy when they released them to Officers. Serial numbers of the WSP guns were
S-155680 and S-155130 I also have in my collection another 6 1/2 WSP gun it is serial number S- 154968.
The other 6 1/2 I bought letters to a Hardware store in Calf. it is serial number S-142048.
It is just one of those things that come together at the right time.
I have not seen a 6 1/2 at a gun show for many years, so when they show up 3 at one time it must mean that you have to buy them. The stars must have been in the right place.
Enjoy the picture
Jim

And I thought I was fortunate in finding ONE. Nice ammo too.

Congrats on the HD's. It is rare to see one but three?
My 6 1/2" HD came from the Bozeman Mt gunshow several years ago when I was stationed at Malmstrom AFB. I liked the Bozeman show and the wife liked shopping in Bozeman so we would go down to Bozeman about every show.
My HD serial # S926xx was shipped to Schwabacher Hardware in Seattle 25 Feb 1953.

Jim,
Does the horseshoe set off the metal detector at the airport? All anyone needs to do is follow you around to find these neat guns! That is a neat trifacta!

Holy Cow! Three 6.5ers at the same time, and seemingly in great condition! Envy! Envy! Envy!
I was feeling lucky today because I brought home a pretty good prewar .38/44 Outdoorsman that I will post after I have a chance to clean it up and get some photos. But your score puts mine in the shade.
Really, congratulations. That's just an amazing trio. Your horseshoe is Clydesdale size, and mine is more for a Shetland Pony.

Well done and congratulations! I have always wondered how the 6 1/2 inch barreled versions handled versus the 4 and 6 inch.

Sweet, Sweet, Sweet! I can't even imagine the odds of finding those three at one time! They are in wonderful shape, ... much better than my WSP 6.5'er, ser # 1558xx, shipped to Schwabacher Hardware Sept 15., 1955. How many of these WSP guns can be accounted for among members?

I haven't seen a HD at a show around here in 5 years. Great score, Jim.

Ditto on the great catch. I have never seen a 6.5" HD in this neck of the woods.

A couple years ago I got one at a show for $200. The guy thought it was an M&P. It is one of the WSP guns but the marking was removed it letters to a hardware store in Tacoma that Roy says supplied the patrol. Mine is serial S 156102 real close to yours. I got a M28 WSP marked last year for $350 as well. It helps to live in Washington.
