Default Brauer Bros Holster Help....

I managed to scrounge a nice early Brauer Bros. holster for my 1905 Target. Unfortunately it is marked in ink with a 17 on the retention strap. Hoping someone here will have a suggestion on removing the ink...

Some people claim that hair spray or alcohol works. I haven't tried either.

Maybe test an inconspicuous area.

Check with Wyatt Burp, I bet he can help,
He's a leatherman.

Acohol will remove the dye of the leather.

There may be something out there to remove only the ink but probably not.

I have the exact same holster, only in oak leaf pattern.

Thanks folks, ....

The flip side was pointed out to me. The holster might have had a assigned number for a LE or Corrections agency. Might be wise to just leave well enough alone.....

Default Ink removal

On heavy fabric we have been able to remove permanent marker ink by spraying with hair spray, letting soak for 2 minutes, spray with Shout laundry helper, let sit 5 minutes and rinse.

Have not tried this on leather. If you do, test a spot under the flap to test your dye.

Gizamo, I think you made the best choice...leave it be.

Here's my Brauer holster.
