Custon Grips Part 3 - Walter Rickell on Farrant & Custom Handguns
There are two good articles here. This first is about the grips of Fuzzy
Farrant.
The second article is about far-out custom handguns. The second-to-last page shows a Bob Chow creation.
It has an interesting commentary, in which Walter Stark is mentioned as the pioneer of this grip style. The particular grips were made by Joe Blackford.
If those guns were made up during the late 1940's and 1950's,
that probably pre-dates some of the LAPD-related grip makers. I don't
know who was making grips, during those earlier years.
Maybe SG-688 or Joe Kent might know. Somehow, I think that
SG_688 may have mentioned it, in one of the emails.
Just got in a HE 38 to mount a pair of Fuzzy's on,
Also got a Pre-Dash M18 for the other pair.
