Default Custom Grips Part 4 - Collection of Pictures

These first 5 pictures are of grips by Guy Hogue. These were done before
he introduced the monoform grip design. They show the cut-corner influence of
Walter Stark, and then Fuzzy Farrarnt. Guy Hogue was originally with LAPD.

This next picture is Jeff Coopers Model 29, with Fuzzy Farrant stocks.

These next two are thought to be John Hurst.

Next, we have links to a couple of other threads featuring these early grip makers :

Stocks by Hurst

Model 19-3 4" questions - are these Fuzzy Farrant stocks? *pics up*

Thanks again to SG-688, Mike Priwer

Mike, Thanks for posting all the text and photos, I'd like to save it all for reference if you don't mind. I found these photos of the set I mentioned in your other thread. These are made from Paduk and spent most of the time on an altered K-38 and less time on a M-19, please excuse the crude workmanship but they were done completely with hand tools and I really had no idea what I was doing, only what I wanted in the end. The checkering was done a couple years later and was my first stab at it. I really would like to cut the corner on a 66 and try all this again, maybe I'll look into it.

Keith

Feel free to take any/all of them. They are all in the three MLP
albums on this site.

Regards, Mike

Default John Hurst Grips

Uncovered this letter I received in 1977 from John Hurst re: a set of grips probably for one of my 29's and wanted to share it with the Forum.
