Default Big Magnum, and BIGGER MAGNUM

The next one pictured has a little bigger posterior than the S&W .357 Magnum above. It's a custom Marlin 1895 Alaska Guide Gun in .457 Magnum (45/70 on steroids) by Wild West Guns in Anchorage. To be safe, the only time I shoot it is right before a scheduled visit to the Dentist - Crown that loose filling!

Glad I didn't order it in .50 Alaskan caliber!!!

jim, now i know why there are not as many prarie dogs left. you shoot them one town at a time with one shot. that should handle just about anything in central KS. lee

Lee: The prairie dog thumpin' .457 Wild West Magnum loads use bonded core 350 grain Kodiak "Bear" extra thick jacketed bullets that cost $69.99 per box of 20. At $3.50 per round, I hate when those tough little critters need shootin' more than once to put 'em down! And after cleaning one that's been shot twice or more, there ain't much left for eatin' either! If you're planning a trip back to Kansas anytime soon, let me know and I'll take you on Safari. Bet you ain't never experienced a charging prarie dog in Tennessee. If you don't have a big enough gun, I've also got a 460 Weatherby Magnum that you can use, but you'll have to buy your own ammunition. Best regards, Jim

The long tube RM's have always been on my very most favorite list. I know that you have probably shared before, but I would love a little more color on that beautiful 8.75"er.
