Default Victory for the data base

I finally found a decent priced Victory to add to my Smith and Wesson accumulation.

4 inch barrel
38 special
s/n V 601030
parkerized finish
numbers match on butt, cylinder and under barrel
top strap marked flaming bomb, US property G. H. D.
Victory stocks not numbered to gun ( numbered 668483)
Lanyard swivel

Please add it to the data base and if you have a idea about when it was produced, I would appreciate it. (If a member has 668483 registered let me know and i will gladly work out a transaction to get the stocks on their gun.)
Randy

Your serial number should be V601030, if it's a Victory Model. Ed.

Hello Randy:

Thanks for posting the info on your nice Victory. I will have it added to the Victory Model Database which LWCmdr45 and I collaborate on.

From the Database I estimate that your Victory likely shipped from the factory in the June, 1944 time frame. The ship dates jump around a little bit in that range so I would not be surprised if it turned out to have been shipped in May or July. June, 1944 is my best estimate.

HTH.

Randy,

Your grips number halfway close to one of my Navy Victories s/n# 669236 that shipped to Norfolk in October of 1944.

Enjoy!

Jerry
