Default .455 owner's history - research opportunity

I hope this is appropriately posted here. If not, my apologies, but for those Hand Ejector .455 owners with names or initials affixed to the firearms or accoutrements and wondering if they might indicate Canadian usage in the Great War, there's a small window of opportunity for you to maybe fill in some blanks.

To honour the anniversary of the Vimy Ridge battle in the Great War, April 9, Ancestry.ca has opened up free/trial access to its database of First War Attestation papers for the next couple of days. Not a full history by any means, but these records often point to initial battalion postings.

Good luck.

Very thoughtful of you to post this here. I wish I had one of the referenced revolvers, but maybe some day.

Upon reading your post, I went to the site you mentioned. They are an extension of ancestry.com. At any rate I searched for Lt. C.R. Avery, whose name is engraved on my Second Model Hand Ejector. I found Charles Ruggles Avery who enlisted in the 13th Battery C.F.A. (Canadian Field Artillery) on March 27, 1915. Born June 4, 1891. He survived the world war and married in 1921. I have emailed his family to see what else there is on him.
Thank you for your very informational post.
