Steve - That set is beautiful and similar to a set that I have, only my set was engraved by Russ Smith (blued one) and most likely Jarvis (nickel one). Now all I need is a S W E E T rig like yours to attend one of those Texas BBQ's

It is one of my favorite Russ Smith engraved guns. Here's the other side:
I did a full thread on the gun with lots of photos here: 1955 CLASS A ENGRAVED 3.5" Pre-27

Just have to post this here. My bargain basement BBQ rig that I bought today for $200. . .1948 pre M10 with Sambar Stags stuck into a period Heiser Holster. This is definitely old school. You know the guy that was wearing this in 1948 must have thought that he was at the top of the food chain.

Unfortunately I don't have a BBQ gun but if I did it would be a Classic Version of the S&W Model 10 with Ivory grips from the Altamont grip company.

DocB,
My first comment would like to be something about widows, orphans, and small children but I know you are not that kinda man. My second thought is that is one heck of a find for that money. CONGRATULATIONS!! hardcase60

For an Eastern style BBQ it would have to be my Harry Jarvis signed 38 Combat Masterpiece from 1950.

For a Texas style BBQ, I would have to tone it down a bit with my Hank Jr onced owned 3rd model 44 W&K.

I wish I had time to go to a BBQ but I`m too busy working every day to support my gun buying habit.
Model 29-2 engraved by Ben Shostle with a narrowed and smoothed trigger and an action job so it runs as good as it looks.

looks like I've been snoozing on this thread. I love BBQ and this is probably what I would strap on for the party. A first year factory Class A engraved .44 Magnum with a Heiser #713 marked VL&A Chicago for 6 1/2" Mag.

I believe the origins of the Western BBQ was called a rendezvous. Please excuse the galoshes. One of these days: Herrett Troopers.

Probably not fair that these photos are still around. You fellers will make a lot of us mad that you've got 'em and we don't. My first thought was that maybe I need to get busy and buy another, but then I realize I might have to work to afford it. I'd rather look at computer pictures that get out of bed that early. And there was a time I wasn't this lazy. Now I wanna go to a gun show.

Here is a Colt that started life as a Wiley Clapp Government Model. The frame and slide were both Color Case Hardened and I added a set of Ivories from Nutmeg. The small parts were Nitre blued

Some very beautiful pistols and revolvers all scratched up. About the only one I have that just might fit in would be my 24-3 with the 3" bbl and of course in 44 special. Frank
