Default Pre-War K22 Pickup

I'm one of those guys that never wins anything and always has terrible luck, but I think I broke my streak on this one.

So I was perusing the shelves of one of the older gunshops here in the SF Bay Area and something caught my eye. It looked a tad worn and had a hideous set of old Mother of Pearl grips on it, but I immediately recognized it for what it was. After a little haggling, I managed to get the shop owner down to $450 out the door.

I also asked the shop owner if he had any grips around and he said, "I've got some really beat up old ones. Your welcome to look through them." As I dug through the box, I found a set of period correct grips (although they didn't have the correct screws). With a little help of a fellow forum member who hooked me up with the correct screw, I'm now set with this beautiful gun. I can't wait to get my Roy Jinks letter!

I'm not a great photographer, but here she is:

You did great. It's got a little character, but all of us old timer's have some character if we've done anything.

Enjoy your wonderful find.

Nice find Kev. I just found one myself, and they are great shooters.

The rear sight on yours almost looks big enough to be the micro sight. Wouldn't that be a find.

Very nice find. Congratulations.

It is amazing that an engraved 29 in a presentation case and a well used K-22 are both things of beauty.

That is a fantastic find. You should have walked straight out of the shop and to a convience store to buy a lottery ticket. I ,too, usually have your kind of unlucky luck. But, things have been looking up for me lately also.
