Won this recently on Gunbroker for $200. Just a .32 Hand Ejector 1st Model (Model 1896). The guy selling it had it labeled as a New Departure. For the $200 starting price I couldn't pass this one up. It's hard to find these models as it is.

The condition of this one just relegates it to a shooter.

Serial #21xx and all the numbers match. Nickel finish is in rough shape with a lot of peeling and missing places with rust patches already through it, especially on the right side. Barrel length is 4-1/4" and the bore has a few pits with decent rifling. Grips are bit worn but they are original and numbered to the gun. Mechanically, the gun is in excellent condition. It has a tight lock-up with almost no wiggle. The spring loaded plunger in the yoke is still there and is good and tight. Holds the cylinder open when fully loaded. No missing or broken parts.

This one is an early one that has the 3-screw sideplate. A 4th screw was added to later models but I don't know at what serial number.

I have already shot this one with factory loads. No problems. It still needs a good cleaning. Had to oil everthing when I got it. Looks like this one had been sitting around for long time not being taken care of. The cylinder and the action were stiff. Still working on getting the side plate off. It appears from the condition of the screws that it probably hasn't ever been off.

For the price I paid it's worth that just in parts.
