*UPDATE* PICTURES Pre 36 Chief Special Question
UPDATE-Deal came together today. I am very pleased. This turned out to be a 1953 model with ramp sights instead of half moon. All numbers match including box, and grips. Hope I did well. Thanks for all the help.
I have located a pre-36, 2" barrel, 1951 round butt, flat latch locally that is described as unfired, in the original red box with matching serial number on the bottom of the box, original owners manual. I have not seen the weapon in person due to being out of town on vacation. The gentleman is asking a firm 1,100.00. Is this a reasonable price for the complete package if it is in the condition he has described upon my inspection? Thanks in advance.

Nice gun, but I think he is about $400 to $500 too high. 36s are plentiful and that price is about double what it should be even to collectors. Wish him good luck unless he can find someone who "just has to have it" and has more money than brains. My $.02 worth.

David Carroll has a 99% pre-36 on his list for $1050. Unfired and in the box is not an every day find.

If correct about the 1951, then that is a Baby Chief.
The only "Owner's Manual" would be the Helpful Hints pamphlet.
He is at the top of the market, but will probably get that if totally original, matching grips, and box numbered to gun.
If early enough to be a half moon, he WILL get that if NIB.

Thanks for all the expert advice. He told me the owners manual has the police officer picture on the front. I do think it has the half moon front sight. Thank you all very much.

It's a very nice example, and will only go up in value in the future. Enjoy!

I revise my original guesstimate, I didn't realize it was that nice with a perfect red box and all. It's worth a lot more than I originally thought, but I'm still thinking I would not go over 1K.
