Default Info. on "lazy ampersand" please.

I've never seen this term as applied to, I think, the pinned on ramp on older Smith & Wessons until just a few weeks ago when I noticed it used on this site. Now I'm seeing it more often.

Can anyone tell me about this term and maybe where it comes from?

It's the "&" sign between Smith and Wesson. Some of the earlier ones were rather layed over looking, hence the term lazy.

Go to the top of the forum and click on Expert commentary. Click on Doc44's link. Scroll through his posts, and he has a detailed commentary about ampersands.
