need help dating combat masterpiece

serial #k1840xx its a 5 screw so i have it dated between 1949 and 1955 just in hopes someone could narrow it down a little more for me.

1953 is probably a safe bet, but the usual disclaimer is that without a factory letter, it's only an educated guess.
