I got this in the spring. It appears to be an unused police gun, as it has an arsenal stamping on the butt. Came as a package with the box and paperwork and cleaning tools.
Here is mine, serial number 2653xx, made about 1917. She shoots like a dream. It's hard to beat the quality and worksmanship that went into these old revolvers.
Just back home from Africa I bought it new in '49 for $71.50. My Dad sent me several pistol grips and I had them copied in ivory at about $6 a pair. I did the decor.
I think rhmc24 takes the cake for having owned his the longest.
I find it interesting how the hammer and front sight styles overlap. Some guns are round sight/Speed Hammer, some are ramped/Speed Hammer, some are round/modern hammer.
I have a couple but nothing that hasn't been seen before. I guess the true "pre10" would be an M&P from 1946 to 1957 so these will fit:
Here's mine that I picked up a few days ago. I'm told it dates to 1929. It came with a Pachmayr rubber grip on it, but thanks to a board member it now has a correct set of stocks on it
