Default I have my 1952 K-22 - Thanks David Carroll- Photos added

I now have a very nice birth year K-22. ( S/N K 1507xx) Not only that, David was able to get the ship date and it was shipped to my home state of Ohio in August 1952 only 4 days before my birthday. Concievably, it could have been sold on my birthday so it is close enough to a birthday gun for me. I will post a photo or two in a few days ( need to borrow the camera from work)
It is not one of his fantastic like new in box guns but it is at least 98% and probably closer to pushing 99% with only a thin turn line a couple of barely noticeable spots near the from sight and a small slighly thinning area of blue on the left muzzle end, which works out better for me as I intend to shoot this at least a little and if it was like new it would end up a safe queen and I will leave those to the collectors who want then without even a turn line. ( Actually, he had a like new one but I chose this one for the above reasons. The one I got suits me just fine and saved some $$ over the as new one to boot)

The worst wear spot - basically just thinning at the muzzle

And a couple of old corrosion spots

Congratulations! Everyone should have a K-22 and everyone should also have a birthday gun. You have managed to combine both goals in a single money-saving transaction.

Please let us see photos when you can.

EDITED TO ADD: Ah, pictures are up. And the gun looks as good as I thought it would. Definitely a keeper!

And to Durco, whose post is a couple down from here, I say: Yes -- in fact everyone should have a bunch of K-22s because they are fine pieces of machinery, and some should be dedicated to a life of admiration while others should be exercised. After all, the company started making these in 1931; there are nearly 80 years worth of specimens to choose from.

Sounds like you got a real winner. I am sure it will be a great shooter too. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Everyone should have two K-22's; one really nice one for admiring the quality of an S&W - the other for shooting and carrying. They are addictive little devils......

K-22s are like potato chips, you just can't have one. I have been rescuing 5 screw K-22s for years, I'm down to only 11 now. Be Very careful, they are addicting.

Very nice! I have been looking for a birthday K-22 (1955) and had to send a "mint" gun back to the dealer, the cylinder was buggered up. I'll keep an eye out on Mr. Carrols list.

Thumbs up Birthday Gun

Nice looking piece... Congratulations!

It's amazing how these old pieces stay in as good a shape as they do... Too bad we can't be as shiny after 50 years.

You should e-mail him; He is always getting new items in and the list gets out of date quickly.
