1952 K-38 with a carved Myres Barton's Special holster
Here is a circa 1952 K-38 with a left hand S.D. Myres hand carved Bartons' Special holster with a hammer protector. The Barton's Special holster is in my 1941 catalog & is not in my 1934 catalog,so it was introduced sometime in the late 1930's. The last photo shows the back of this holster-it was made with a stiff flap with a sewn leather piece that slips under your belt &/or inside your waistband. It is easy to take on & off & holds the revolver securely. They are usually seen made for smaller pistols or revolvers & I've only seen a few that were carved. This one is pretty deluxe as it also has the hammer protector. The rear sight sits right in the little slot between the holster body & the hammer protector. The K-38 came to me in it's original gold box & is in fine condition with the exception of some muzzle wear.It is serial number K145782,probably shipped in 1952,my birth year.

Very nice package. I love the holster. I have never seen one quite like it. Excellent condition for it's age.

Beautiful combination. That flap arrangement is most interesting and looks quite practical.
Thanks for sharing.

Ya' know... I'd rate it extra fine condition. Great blue & nice grain on those stocks.
Fine leather is the best when paired with a revolver like that.

Beautiful rig! That holster design is very interesting. I wonder if anyone is making them today - especially for smaller revolvers.

the holster is very similar to a Milt Sparks 200 AW. I have one for my K-22 & K-38
