Hard to walk by this one
Saw this on a table today at the show and as I was looking a couple other guys were just waiting for me to set it down well I decided that that just wouldn't happen so A near new 2nd Model Lady Smith has come into the fold
it appears to have been fired once or twice but It is hard to find anything wrong with it. Sorry for the ****** pics as I am in a hotel room and the lighting is bad.

Those are pretty good pic, tho, of an excellent looking Lady.
If you can top those after you get home, I'll enjoy viewing.
Thank you, TACC1.

Bill, that horse shoe hasn't stopped since Tuscon. I think a fun pic would be Dan holding it in a shooting pose. I wonder which two fingers he would use?

Huh...after only 5 minutes of sittin' here perusing photos of the 2nd model LS, I stumble over these.
"She" is beautiful, and so cool.
Congrats.
I gotta ask though, has she had a facelift?

Thanks guys,
I am pretty sure its all original finish, There are no stars or refinish marks under the grips which are numbered to the gun. It has crisp rollmarks and the pins have not been flattened. It has the Black mirrorlike finish that was classic of the time. Here are a couple more pictures

Holy Moly, Dan! Sometimes I get lucky, but I have never been that lucky! What a beauty! I'd have taken advantage of the bounce protection feature of my debit card to buy that one! Please keep me in mind if you ever want to sell it!
And now I'm out of exclamation marks!

Great looking revolver Dan! Sadly, I miss not living in Tucson anymore. A fella could pickup some excellent old ladies. Now I live in California and unless I am real lucky that does not happen anymore.
Dan, thanks for sharing

That's a beauty, and unmolested as far as I can see. Probably the best "find" I've seen lately.

Dan, I see you have fallen into the old seller's con! ( have a couple of your buddies stand around your table and wait until the Mark picks up a gun. Then they look like they can't wait to get that gun if you put it down. Works every time if the gun is a S&W and a S&W addict is the mark!) - Just kidding! That's a great find, but you have to realize that the box for that gun is going to cost you twice what the gun did! Ed.

I'm not much on those old, small guns, but in that condition I'd have snatched it up as well.
Nice score, Dan.

That's one beautiful revolver, Dan. Do you mind saying how much you were obliged to lay down for it?

Most elegant. The proportions speak the seemingly easy, but elusive, inevitability that elegant design proclaims. Sort of like a Bach Trio Sonata, where one thinks, "Wow, that's how I would have written that".
Nice find.

Dyson

Dan,
If you don't find a box for it, are you going to put it in a presentation case? I bet it would really look good in a dedicated case!
Just wondering, TACC1.

Dan, Very nice. Is it a 3 or 3 1/2 inch gun? Looks like it might be a 3 1/2. I have a box for a 3 inch 2nd model Ladysmith that fits the condition of your gun. -Chad

gripper,
yes its a 3 1/2" barrel, a box would be cool
Ed,
earlier on Friday I had spied a Model of 1899 Navy contract M&P and put it down to make a phone call and learn a little. When I went back there was a guy buying it oh well !!! I wasnt going to let that happen again.
back to the Lady Smith and as far as price, I will just say that it was more than I wanted to pay but less than I would expect to see one in this condition priced. I was happy to get it.

Dan, Too bad your gun is a refinished gun, although it's a very good job. I'll give you an original hammer stud if you want to replace that refinished one, but you
will have to remove it from my parts gun and blue it to match your LadySmith. . Ed.

Dan, that's a "once in a lifetime" find. Beautiful gun. It makes my S&W collector's heart beat pitty-pat. Congrats!

Ed,
as I discussed with you earlier today it is the only thing on the gun that isn't right. I am still not completely convinced.

MeAmMe, That glow from Dan's cave is from the pile of BBQ guns with all those carved up shinny chrome finishes, and flashy Mexican steer horn pearl grips. I hear they are arranged kind of like an Altar in honor of the God of the Golden Horseshoe!
