Default Smith Wesson picture books

Are there any S&W books that focus on the M&P model 10's and their police use?

I am collecting BPD (BOSTON POLICE) S&W's and have the Boston Police book from Acadia publishing which has some smiths

"Smith and Wesson, 1857-1945: A Handbook for Collectors by Robert J. Neal and Roy G. Jinks" is a nice book with photos. Specializes in pre-numbered guns.

My neighbor gave me a look-see a little while back. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find this in print. Need to scour the used books stores(which are a dying breed around here).

Good luck to you.

If you can find a copy, the out of print book "America's Right Arm" by John Henwood is exclusively about the M&P revolver. But if you are looking for a resource that specifically chronicles the LE/military use of the M&P, this book is short on that informantion.

Good news ... Amazon has this book.

Bad news ... It's $108.

Another good news/bad news. Bibliopolis has the book. It's $100.

$100 seems pretty steep for the Right Arm which, in my opinion, is a labor of love but the the quality of the photos and the depth of information leave a lot to be desired. I would try IDSA books, their prices are usually the most reasonable and they are nice people to deal with. Another in print to consider, especially if you want great color photos is the newest edition of the S&W Ency published by Krause and written my a pair of experts. You can get it at a discount price on Amazon and the pictures and comprehensive and up to date scope is unmatched. Dave

I bought a used copy of Neal and Jinks about 4 years ago for $90. (I think it was Able Books, online)

I brought it to a SWCA Annual meeting, and Roy signed the book for me. He was gracious and gave the old book a nice inscription.

So I'm wondering, when people like Roy scratch their name on guns and books and such, does that make them more valuable, or does it destroy the collector value??? LOLOL J/K of course.

Buy the book. Pay the $100, it's worth it. And Roy didn't charge me to sign the used book. While big time athletes and rock stars charge for their autographs, my hero's, men like Roy and Ed and others of you here on the forum willingly share the gift of your experience free of charge. Thank you.

I copied the following from another link.
I know a few of these have been mentioned, but there is a third one here as well:

One additional source you might want to check is Cornell Publications.
I have purchased reprinted S&W catalogs from them which are fully illustrated.
Their library is quite extensive, prices are reasonable and the quality of the catalogs I purchased was very good.
