Default New to Me K-22

I've wanted one for a long time. I have high hopes this K-22 will be as much fun to shoot as the M-41 and Pre Model 15 that inspired its purchase. I don't buy often, but when I do I like to try and find a keeper. This one took my eye. Not in my hands yet as I am waiting for the call that the transfer is ready for pickup.

That is BEAUTIFUL. You will really enjoy your new gun.

A nice K-22 is rimfire Nirvana.

Best,
Gary

Great looking gun, I think you will find it very enjoyable to shoot. Here is a recent thread from a member with his first K-22 you might find interesting. K22 range report

Default I just got mine last week.

I have never had so much fun shooting in my life! These guns are really the berries. It was a m 15 that started me down this path too. Next on the agenda is a .357 with a 6" barrel, if I can resist the urge to just start collecting k22s.

Man that's a beautiful gun you got there (cleaning the drool off my keyboard).

A beauty! Congratulations.

Late '52/early '53, I think. By that time the target hammer was an available option, so your gun may have had that hammer when it shipped. (But the hammer might have been added later as an owner upgrade.)

In the aggregate, I suspect K-22s have brought more instant joy to more shooters than any other model S&W ever made. And among the joyful, the biggest smiles often seem to be found on the faces of those who are lucky enough to own five-screw K-22s.

Nice score. I agree it is likely to be awarded "keeper" status.

Very nice. I would agree with David that it is probably 1952 vintage. Looks to be in excellent condition. The only problem with K 22's is that they are like potato chips. Very hard to limit yourself to just one...

I agree. I think the K-22 is at the top of the "must Have" list of S&W's.

SMK that's a high condition example.

Yep, .22s and especially nice .22s do it for me. Over the years I've bought and kept some of the icons that used to be so common at the gun shows when I was a kid. Win 61, Win 62, M-41. I suspect this K-22 will light a fire to find another to keep it company. No doubt in my mind these old Smiths are the high water mark for quality.

If there is a better .22 revolver out there I don't know what it is!!

I am sure you will be as happy with your "new" addition as I am with mine.
