Default my first K-22....

i finally found one that wasn't beat up or priced as NIB. it needs a good cleaning, otherwise it's in very good condition. the action is very smooth. but it did come with some way oversized home made(?) grips which could explain the nice price. i'll put some comfortable Ahrends on it since it will be used a lot.
serial # K 1757XX. according to SCSW, it may have been made on the first work day of 1953...hopefully the employees weren't feeling the effects of New Year celebrating

Thumbs up

"...this will not be your last K 22. "

That's so true. I don't know what it is about K 22's but ya' can't have just one!

You have started out with a good one. Those grips have nice grain, I bet someone that was good at making stocks could use them to make a nice set.

My K-22's like standard velocity ammo, but it's fun to shoot all kinds 'til you find the ones that shoot best for you.

Some Chemtool B12 carb cleaner will take that paint off the front sight without harming the bluing. That would be one of my first steps.

Default bulk ammo

Mine does great with walmart bulk federal, it's the cheapest ammo I can find and the gun out shoots me by a country mile.

update..i gave it a quick cleaning, and ditched the ugly grips. for now, it's wearing grips borrowed from the 28-2. not a perfect fit, but they'll do until the new wood arrives
made a trip to the range today, but the place was packed so i decided to wait for another day.

BTW, including tax, it was $435. the new Ahrends grips will push the cost to about $500. not too bad.

K-22's the worlds best 22. Mine like almost anything I care to put in the cylinder.
