Default M12 Flat Latch 4"

Out running around in the woods on my 4 wheeler today and stopped by a neighbors. I was wearing my 610, and took it out to show him. He went in and got his revolver. I had never seen one like it.
M12 No Dash
Flat Latch
4" Pencil Barrel
Round old style front sight.
Steel Cylinder I am pretty sure.
Probably 95% - 97% finish. I did not have my glasses to really go over it.
Looked all original grips and all.

I did not write down the serial number.

I have never seen a 4" version of a Model 12. Any interest and I will look it over better. My first thought was this probably needs to be in someones collection instead of loaded in his dresser drawer.

The 4" Model 12s aren't uncommon but a no-dash in excellent condition is interesting.

In either configuration flat latch Airweights are not too common.

Are you sure about the front site being the half penny rounded style?
If so it would be an early one.

All the M12's I have seen had the word "Airweight" on the right side of the barrel.

Would love to see pics and get a partial SN# to look up its birth year.

I have a thumb break holster for him.
I will try and deliver the holster tomorrow, and get pictures, and a Serial Number while I am their.

The barrel looked thinner to me than a M10 standard barrel.

I will probably have to round up the son to show me how to post the pictures on here. I need to get that figured out anyway.

Bob, if you are interested there are a couple of 4"bbl. Mod 12s on Gunbroker right now. I think the 2" models were more popular in the Airweight configuration, but I don't consider the 4" models rare.

There was also a roundbutt 4" for sale on our forum a few days ago.
May still be available.
