Default Little Two-Tone (Pre-34)

This little Pre-34 was shipped to Rex Firearms Co., New York City, NY, on 7/28/54. I want to give a special thank you to DWFAN for finding the correct rosewood grips.

Jeremy,
That ones looks great. I think you may find it interesting that my pre-21 Pinto shipped only 2 days after this one, also to Rex Firearms. Somehow I imagine you already knew that though. They must have been ordering a lot of pistols from S&W to have shipments that close together.

Very nice, Jeremy! Those grips really look good on that gun.

You should do a family photo sometime. That would be impressive.

Thumbs up SWWEEEEEEEEETTTT

Jeremy:

I remember back when all that you had was one lowly 19-1 pinto. Sure is fun to see your collection grow. That pre-34 is a real beauty.

DWFAN and bamabiker, I'll take a family photo at some point. In the meantime, here is the family individually:

S-W Forum - jeremyws1's Album: Two-Tones

RKmesa, I'll always remember my first one. I won the Model 19-1 on GunBroker in March of 2008, and I've been addicted ever since. It has been a fun ride.

That's an outstanding collection, the Pintos bringing a whole different dimension to the look of already beautiful classic guns. The recent "reverse" addition the black hat of the bunch and the icing on the cake. Well done.

Very nice indeed. I would think that it would be difficult to collect these guns. I know that you only want factory done guns, and I assume that there are quite a few out there that were done by "bubba". Do you only consider guns in which their owner already has a letter, or do you take alot of chances and get them lettered yourself? Thanks for showing us your collection and I look forward to the family picture.

boykinlp, collecting two-tones definitely has its challenges. I prefer buying lettered two-tones, but I gamble from time to time. I actually lettered the Model 36 before I bought it. The wait was long knowing someone could buy it at any moment, but things worked out in the end. Interestingly, many factory shipped two-tones will letter as blue only guns because the invoices are incorrect. Those are hard to pass up when they are new-in-box with the box marked "BN," but I have to draw the line somewhere.

Does the serial number start with a 6?

ordnanceguy, I believe you've seen the Pre-34 before, but I'm not sure. P.S. Do you own a McComb, MS, shipped S&W? It's a small world.

Model520Fan, the serial number is 4xxx. It was shipped five months before the "Clark" Pre-34, but you know that.
