Rex Firearms Co., Inc - Fine Guns - New York???
Has anyone ever heard of Rex Firearms Co., Inc? I have a business card from them with a set of grips that were given to my grandfather probably in the mid to late 1950's. Here's the card:
On the back it is stamped, "Compliments of Al & Ted."
I'd love to hear any info anyone may know or remember about the company and, of course, about who Al and Ted were!

Steve, Rex firearms was a big distributor of S&W's. They took a lot of orders on unique Smiths and special order guns like Pinto's. I am sure more people will come along with more info, but I sure would like to see what the grips are like that came with the business card. Are they anything special or just some standard S&W factory grips?

Rex Firearms was the 1950s version of the S&W Performance Center. If you wanted something different or special from S&W you ordered it through Rex Firearms. The turned out a lot of goodies we drool over today!. Ed.

Rex Firearms specialized in engraved, and guns with special finishes. They have quite a few ads in the American Rifleman in 1955 and 1956. I don't know who Al is, but Ted, is Ted Zarry, Rex's Sales Manager.

Thanks everyone! Especially VM for the link to the previous old post with the ads and the info on their gunsmith!
Oddly enough, the grips are mother-of-pearl for a Colt 1911. My grandfather was the gun buyer for Marshall Field & Company on State Street in Chicago during the 1950's. The pearl handles have been on a few of my dad's guns over the years and have always been returned to the soft bag and business card.
My intention is to put them on a 100th Anniversary Colt....
