Any FFL in NJ sell classic S&W's?
Are there any FFL's in New Jersey with a nice selection of classic Smith & Wesson's?
I would be most interested in pre 1960 K or N.

I know
I am doomed.
Fortunately there is a one gun per month rule in New Jersey and it takes close to forever to get a permit to purchase each pistol.
Therefore I am on but a slow path to perdition.

Very nice classy outfit.
Wide selection of all types of handguns and long guns.
Limited selection of older Smiths

Tough to find a decent gun shop ANYWHERE in NJ right now. Rays on Rt 22 in N Plainfield used to have a lot of old Smiths, but they are now gone.
Talked to several old friends from 35 yrs back when I last resided in NJ , and they all drive to PA for their ammo and reloading supplies.
Possibly Inspector Callahan will chime in...he has a nice collection of quality, old N frames and did 90% of it from GunBroker or ME...then simply did the paperwork in NJ. He may know some shops I'm unaware of.

I used to frequent Rays on Route 22. The help there ran hot or cold depending on the day, but I scored a number of great Smith revolvers there, including a K22, a 15, a 16, a 640-1, and a 37. Sadly, no place to run to and to enjoy a used gun case anymore in northen NJ.

Try Hackettstown Guns and Ammo, 147 Main St, Hackettstown at #908-852-5260. Hours M-F 9a-5p, Sat 10a-3p. There are a few older S&W's- a couple of 66's, a 586, a 6" M&P, and an older 36 no dash 2". Used stuff comes and goes. I work there on Friday's- call me. Also have a new Classic Model 29 Blue 4" in stock. Walt is the owner and is a sweetheart to deal with (that's why I'm working there).

I did business with Meltzer's in Garfield, just across the river from my house. I remember the old man singing at the cash register: "One, two, six, ten, Meltzer gets your money again." Of course that was along tome ago, I been here 31 yrs. Joe

This place has been closed for about five years. I used to pass by the place all the time, but not anymore...
