Default Pre-model 34? Need info.

I would like to know if this is a pre-model 34. The serial number is 84xx. I am curious as to the year and the value of this 22. It is very clean inside with good lockup and it has slight bluing wear on the cylinder and edges of the barrel from holster wear. I do not believe it has been fired very much. I plan on putting this on the forum for sale and would appreciate an honest feedback as to the value of it.

What you have is a Model of 1953 "Kit Gun" or as you call it a pre-Model 34.
I had one serial number 823 which I sold awhile back which was made in 1953, so your's is probably late 1953, or 1954 manufacture. I am probably wrong, put I would ask $695 for yours and see what happens.
They are great little guns. Hope that helps.

Welcome to the Forum!! Nice little Pre-Model 34 you've got there!! Given the Serial No. it was most likely shipped in 1954. When these first were produced they were averaging about 5000 or so of these a year. I have quite a few of these and a couple of them are in this Serial No. Range that were shipped in 1954. Also, just to keep it as nice as it is "Don't" store it in the Holster!! This is bad news!! Given the wear issues I think maybe $695 is a bit pricey, but as the old saying goes!! !!!"You can always come down, but you can't go up"!!! Good Luck!!

Thanks for all the info, it was left to me a number of years ago and it is in a leather Eubanks holster (stamped Kit 22-32) thus the bluing wear. Otherwise a very nice little gun, and it does have the original grips that have the matching serial numbers to the gun.
