Red face 1905 38 special new to me

just bought the1905 to add to my small colection.sn314655 nickle with cokes. rigth grip is worn.6" barrel. grips not numbered to gun but realy look good on it.will add pics later. oyea got it for 267.50 otd. grips are not cokes as listed abolve but magna in dark color.sn on grips is 850319.

Nice gun, decent price.

The gun is from about 1919/20; the stocks are from a gun that shipped in 1941. These are referred to as service stocks rather than magnas. Magnas have an upward sweep that overlies part of the frame on the left side and sideplate on the right. Magna stocks cover the rearmost screw of a sideplate, but leave the other three exposed.

That gun will be fun to shoot. Standard .38 Special ammo will be fine, or lower-pressure wadcutter match cartridges. Avoid +P ammo. Post a range report when you can!

Hi, I have a 1905 4th change also that is 6" blue. Mine was shipped from Smith in June of 1919. Serial # 2996xx Hope that gets you a little closer on date. Bob
