Default A shotgun to go with my Pre-27

It's not from S&W
But this 1957 Model 12 goes very well
With my 1955 .357 Magnum:

Sir.
You have good taste in shotguns and handguns. I live in a poorer neighborhood.

I find a 870 Remington with a short barrel to suit my needs.

Especially when dealing with long legged snakes. When the snake is longer than the shotgun, shoot twice.

For a handgun on snakes I have used a Model 28 several times.

I think your concept is a sound one though. 12 gauge or .357 Magnum. I don't know what you use yours for but down here the snakes don't really complain no matter which I use.

Nothing shabby about that 870.
I have its cousin (surplus from the California Highway Patrol) and it cleaned up real nice (checkering and an old Jostam pad was added):

Timewise, this 97 Winnie (marked Adams Express Company) goes well with my 1902 M & P (no picture) as both were made in 1902. However, I think it goes better with my 1903 "other brand".

Thank you:
I did the refinishing of the wood.
Checkering by Frank Vallone of Sycamore Hill Designs.
