Smile It do make a difference

I posted pix of the gunshow K22 (1949) when I found it a couple of weeks ago, but since it was sporting a more modern set of PC magnas I've been on the prowl for replacements. The magnas have eluded me but I did manage to find these old things . . . guess I'll just have to struggle along and make do . . . if I have to . . .

I'd keep looking, if I were you. Proper magnas on that frame are
very elegant . The large much-later target stocks, on a K-frame,
just don't have the look .

Here is K6428, the old S&W that got me interested in Smiths as more than tools...

By the way, this is my first photo post on this forum.

Great looking grips and wonderful photgraphy. I guess I'm the strange guy here but I prefer pretty targets on nearly every S&W and if I decide to shoot them and they have the correct magnas they get put away and targets installed.

Those are very nice grips. Not to drift the thread, but I'm partial to non-PC magnas for shooting. I should give my one set of targets another try, though.

I agree with fyimo about the target grips looking great. To me, they really make the gun look good. I do keep the magnas on a gun though if they came with them.

Beautiful set of grips NFrameFred.

Hello NFrameFred
I have to agree with other's here that the Target stock's Look Much better on your gun. I do not care for Magna's as I feel they do not do a target gun any Justice. S&W was Very late to the game with offering any factory target stocks for their target revolver's, but if you Plan on shooting it the Target stocks will serve you much better unless you have small hands.

Here is my 1947 Transitional K-22 that came with it's correct serial numbered Magna's. They Now reside in the box as the Target's have replaced them....

I too prefer the look and feel of S&W target stocks on K-frame .22's that I shoot. I keep the tiny original magnas to put the gun back to original if I want.

A second for the great photography. I rarely get a chance to take any gun photos outdoors due to a really (insert expletive!!) nosy anti-gun neighbor right next door.

A good looking set of diamond targets on a great revolver. Magnas fit my hand better so that's what I normally mount. The targets are a great look on almost any revolver excepting the short barreled stuff. Keep looking, you'll find the grips you want.

Those diamonds are a little fancy if you would like I can send you a set of mid 80's magna's. all kidding aside, those are nice looking grips. I find the target grips fit my hand better than the magna's but maybe I am just used to them.
