Forum member 6gunsonly and I went to the range yesterday and shot several handguns. This was the first range trip for the pre 24 I posted a photo of about 2 weeks ago. It was very enjoyable to shoot and it shot well, in fact I'm sure it will shoot much better than I can hold it. It was also the maiden voyage for 6gunsonly's latest custom single action Ruger. It made a good showing also and is very easy on the eyes, maybe he will post a photo here for you guys to see. The target in the pic is from a rest at 25 yards.

We were at a steel target (only) range last Thursday with our 6.5" M1950 .44 Special. The favorite load, 6.5 grains behind a 240 grain hard cast SWC bullet, proved accurate as usual and really moved the steel targets out to the range's maximum 50 yards.
The Range Master noted the gun. Many of the .35 (9mm) and .36 (.357) caliber shooters noted the target movement.
Nimrod, nice gun and group. I have both the 6.5" pre 24 and the reintro 24-3 in 4" & 6.5". I was shooting at the range one Sat. with my brother and shooting from the rifle range to the berm at a steel popper at approx 130 yds. the 44 slammed it with a pretty stout load with a 250gr. SWC. Yeah, people notice when something happens with authority. Then my brother (who used to shoot on the 3rd Army pistol team for several years) slammed the same popper with a Long Slide Hardballer 45 acp. And people think a handgun is a short range proposition. If it can slam a steel popper down at that range, flesh and bone ain't gonna be a problem. I like the 50 Target as you can tell by my handle. Enjoy !!
