Default Help needed-4th Model Target 44 hand ejector

A fellow forum member 29aholic sold me a nice 4th model Target 44 hand ejector that a really cool gun even though not original. It sports a pencil barrel thats been cut to 5inches and
has a gold bead front sight and a cylinder thats recessed and can chamber 44 magnums. It has such great balance. I suspect someone fitted a 44 mag cylinder and faced the front off to fit in the frame. The problem is that when i shoot any 44 special loads( i have never shot magnums) the cases always stick and they are very hard to extract. I have cleaned and cleaned but the chamber are in need of something more. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
Thanks a lot, fellow forum members.

The front sight looks like a Christy gold bead. Are there any markings on the sight?

There are chamber "de-leaders" made by Clymer that cut the crud from the chamber available. Or, take a 44 mag case, and run it up into the neck expanding die far enough to where it will just fit into the chamber and you have to tap it in all the way. It will scrape the residue out. Then take a chamber brush and chuck it into your cordless drill and run it in and out of the chambers. This should clean out all the build up. If needed, there are chamber hones available to polish the chambers, but that shouldn't be needed.

Hello harris1
I would caution you in saying to Not shoot any .44 Magnum ammo in that revolver. The Pre-29's had a special Heat Treated frame & Cylinder, where as the Forth Model .44 Target Hand eject's did Not have a heat treated frame. Firing a Full House .44 Magnum in a Vintage .44 Special revolver is dangerous and can and may destroy the weapon as the Cartridge Pressure of the .44 Magnum is Much higher than the .44 Special rounds. I sure would not chance it if it were mine...

Default pre 24 with 44 magnum cylinder

i have never fired a magnum round through it and never will. i bought it because of the balance and weight of the pistol.
But wasnt Elmer Keith firing hot handloads through his 44 specials in the few years before Smith developed the pre 29?
Thank you for your words of caution.
I did take some super fine sandpaper like 600 grit and wrap it around a cleaning rod and polish the chambers and now ekection is fineThanks to all for advice
