Model 29 No Dash Four Screw
I obtained this one from the same owner of the K-38 five screw that I posted here Friday. This Model 29 no dash four screw dates to 1959. It too was wearing rubber grips which I replaced with these incorrect checkered targets. Yes, someone harvested the cokes. This one is in wonderful condition as well.

Very nice pre-29! Non-model marked 8 3/8 inch - 4 screw 29's are not that common! It really desirves a factory letter to confirm shipping date. Would you mind providing the serial number? I once owned S184060 which was an early non-model marked 8 3/8 inch pre-29.
Thanks,
Bob

Rad29,
Hi Bob,
The serial number is S196033.My SC of S&W says late 1959 but it could be early 1960.

Shouldn't the "&" on the barrel be crushed/squished on an
early gun like the one pictured?(Maybe it is and I'm not seeing
it correctly ) Pete

i am no expert, but the barrel looks like a barrel after 1982 because ,the ejector housing runs clear out to the end(right side of gun) and not tapering off like the pre-1982.let me know if i am wrong, thanks

Rick...I have a couple that are close to yours in serial number and were shipped in March-May of 1960. However, mag 44 is correct about the barrel being a post-82 variety, leading to the conclusion a new barrel has been installed.
