Default S&W .32 Need help in identification

I need some info on this piece. I do not know if it is a Pre-30 or a Pre-31 or something else. The year made would be nice to have also. Thanks.

This is just one of three Smiths that are coming to me from my wife's aunt's estate. I did not want to put all three up at once. Not going to sell, just trying to find out what they are. Thanks again.

My book places this one as a 32 Hand Eject Third Model built from 1911-42 s/n range was 263001 - 536684 so if there is any linear progression on s/n it would have been made around
1918-19.
Just a guess,
Larry

I would put this gun's shipment date in 1920. Those are not the original stocks, but they constitute an interesting home-made effort to create a larger grip for what is actually a very small frame. This gun should be identified as a .32 Hand Ejector, Third Model.

S&W made .32 revolvers with longer square butt stocks, but those guns never had stocks as long as this one. The S&W square butt model was called the .32 Regulation Police.

S&W also had an ever larger set of stocks called extension stocks that they put on the adjustable-sight versions of these small frame revolvers. Like your stocks, they had two screws. Unlike your revolver, they had a rearward extension that completely enclosed the backstrap of the revolver. I suspect that style of grip inspired the design of your gun's stocks.

What is the medallion on the left side? I can't make out any details, but there seems to be some kind of figure and perhaps even lettering there.

The gun appears to be in very nice shape for its age.
