1917,s the other 3 that go with the 1917 Target
Hi.
It looks like everybody enjoyed the 1917 Target so here is the rest of the group.
No 1. top gun in picture is a early 1917 miltary that was never issued
it has no wear and is 98% plus condition. It has dished stocks but does not have the grooved trigger. serial number is 179XX shipped 1917.
No 2. Is the 1917 Target information in other post.
No 3. Is a bright blue 1917 Commerial shipped with Magna stocks and is in 99% condition with the orginal numbered box. shipped in 1939 it is
serial number 2038XX.
No 4 Is a Post war Transition shipped july 1946 with it orginal box numbered to the gun. one of 981 made. It is in 99% condition. on the front of the box is the price that it sold for in 1946 $51.87. it is serial number 2099XX.

I have 9 45 cal Smith & Wessons revolvers with a production of less than 23. They go from only 1 made to only 23 made.
does that meet the requirements for the most rare 45,s.

While rereading Elmer Keith's Sixguns, I found where he had a 1917 Target that he shot quite often. I wonder what happened to that one.
