Default Two "new" Centennials.....Pre-Model 40 & Model 042.....w/ photos

Hey, everyone. Just received these two little guys in from two different sources out of state today. My 442 broke, and is still at S&W; but I've decided that I'm pretty much done with new S&W's, especially when it comes to self-defense. So, I was looking for a new (older) Centennial to take it's place. I just so happened into 2 of 'em

I'm pretty excited about this Pre-40. I've always wanted one of these, but it took my 442 breaking to finally push me to get one. I traded straight across for a '75 vintage Model 60 that was in pretty good shape. I'm happy to not of only found one, but found an earlier one at that! I'm almost thinking I need a later one now to actually carry Seriously though, this thing's got an awesome trigger pull for a J-frame and will be right at home in my pocket.

Now, for the Model 042.....I happened across this one on GB and bought it for $400 shipped. I know it's a lot like a 442 that I could of bought new and so on, but the fact that these are made with; all steel parts, traditional rifling, no laser etching, no locks, no integral frame lug, and no J-magnum frame really appealed to me...and the 442 couldn't give me any of that! The fact that they're relatively scarce also appealed to me. This little guy is gonna make a great quick grab-n-go gun for quick errands or as a lightweight BUG

All in all, I'm glad to be sitting good for a pocket gun now. I didn't realize how much I really needed a Centennial 'til I was without one for a few weeks. The internal hammer really does make a huge difference when it comes to drawing from the pocket. Now, I just need a nice 640 and I'll be really set! Never ends, huh?

Thanks for looking guys,
-Rob

Nice Centennials. I'm partial to them and Bodyguards (the old school ones).
