1950 Combat Masterpiece
Pulled it out of a safe place, cleaned the RIG off of it, put the grips back on. Made in 1950 the with the four inch barrel. Has a fishhook hammer.
Now to put her up for a few more years. Grips off and RIG back on. Everything baggied, again... Back in a safe.

I suppose model numbers make more sense, but I love the original names on some of these old Smiths. A name like "Combat Masterpiece" alone sells the gun for me!
Take it to the range! 50 rounds won't hurt a darn thing, let it see some action.

Whatever makes you happy... I guess. But I confess that I have never understood owning something and not using it.
Here's mine pictured with it's K22 companion. They both get used as much as possible. Yours is prettier but mine is more fun.

Too bad, if it had been September it would have been a birthday month gun for me and you would have felt obligated to send it to me.

Ha, you beat me to it. I have always wondered why people put safe queens in gravel, on granite boulders, on asphalt drives, and any other rough abrassive surface to take photographs...

Poor revolver is just begging for some range time. Shoot it and screw the future collector!

Nice one! Take her out and shoot, bet it shoots dang good. Heres my 1950 K-38 Combat Masterpiece with box but without original grips, put the relieved targets on after purchase. It's a real smooth and good shooter. Enjoys your's!

How would it be to have some future generation find out a spring is broken or the timing is off and you never even knew all these years??? I have safe queens but maybe they are really safe princesses since most of them come out at least for light .38's or something.
