Default Unusual Mod 10?

Has anyone seen a model 10 marked as MOD-101 rather than MOD 10-1, with a recessed cylinder and marked 38 special on barrel? I am familiar with some which were chambered for 357 mag with recessed cylinders, but I am stumped by this 38 spl gun. This is a 4" heavy, pinned barrel, diamond magna grips, numbered to the gun. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This comes up from time to time. Here's a thread that started on this question last year:

Does anyone else have a Model 101?

Okay, I went back and read it all. The OP asked or said the clyinder is RECESSED! No one adressed that! I always heard just the mags and rimfires were recessed, so what gives?

I still insist there must have been a shop making these. There are a couple of varients. One has a fitted rear sight. They all have a magnum cylinder and barrel fitted to a fixed sight frame. My guess is a bulk purchase of Model 10 HB's were bought for these conversions.

I believe I recall seeing one listed as a 101 on GB just recently, it too had some sort of rear sight fitted to it,
