Default Can Someone help me ID this beautiful S&W Antique Revolver?

I believe I have a S&W 32 Hand Ejector 1st Model revolver with a serial number that is 107XX. I have searched all over the place for the specifications of this hand gun but I can't quite get it just right. I think that it is the 32 Hand Ejector and since I have never owned a gun before, I am not sure. Truth is I am selling this piece so once, I have Identified the model, I intend to sell it. Thanks for all your help and congrats on your wonderful forum.

Ohh, I forgot on the barrel in each one of the bullet chambers it the following writing.

Springfield Mass

Smith & Wesson

U.S.A. Patented

JULY 1.84.
APRIL 9.89.

MARCH 21. 94
MAY 29. 94

MAY 21. 95
JULY 16. 95

I am assuming that it was patented in 1884 and manufactured in 1895... But I really am not sure.

From the photo and info given, I believe it is a S&W model of 1896 in .32 long. The first Smith with a swingout cyl. The lockup for the gun should be on top. Does it look like the one in the photo here? If so that is what you got.

It looks like it was re-nickeled at least once. What is that extra hole in the frame for?

Yes, .32 Hand Ejector, First Model (or Model of 1896). Because of the way S&W handled shipments once firearms were in inventory, this gun could have shipped as late as 1901 or so.

Thank you guys for the info, I thought I had posted six pictures but I guess the thread only shows one and it is the least important of the six. Anyhow here is another shot at the pictures and I am not sure if it ever was re-nickled what I do know is some person tried to spray paint it to make it look better and I am still cleaning it..

OK, I may have mistaken the paint on the hammer for nickel plate. Still curious about the extra hole in the frame though.

Just a guess, but since the front sight has been replaced, perhaps the hole in the left side of the frame was to screw in some kind of rear target sight, like a WunderSight, to create a homemade target gun?? Is the hole threaded? Ed.
