Default Outdoorsman?

Hello everyone, this is a great site and I think it has already helped me narrow down the approx. DOB of a pistol my grandfather left me. It's a .22 revolver and has a serial # of 673xxx on the butt and 14xxx on the inside of the crane. I have a not so clear picture that I hope will help identify it. Thanks again for the great site

The number on the bottom of the butt is the serial number. Number inside of the yoke is for production/assembly only and is of no use to the buyer or collector.

The number on the butt should also be on the underside of the barrel flat, on the rear of the cylinder, and on the backside of the extractor. It may also be on the yoke, but to see it you will have to open it up and look through the chambers of the cylinders from the rear.

Yes, it is a K22 outdoorsman. Ship date for 674xxx is March 1939, so yours would be very close to that.

Nice gun, I like the grips but probably not original equipment.

The grips aren't original but they are beautiful.
